Life Goes On

So extremely freaky cold weather kept us inside for a week, as it was just to cold to take M out. So we came up with new things to keep us entertained. This included colouring, which often led to M being a riot of different colours.

At the end, we ended going up to the cabin. As you can see, Marek still adores Abbey Dog. Luckily, Abbey adores all the food crumbs M drops, so she puts up with Marek.
We're up to over 30 ASL signs. I don't know how parents live without sign language.

Snow Day part 2 of 2

Snow Day

I couldn't pick so your going to get a lot of "First Snow Experience". M was fascinated looking out the window at all the white. Luckily we bought snow boots the day before. M found walking in them somewhat bothersome, and was not impressed that snow wasn't easy to get off his hands. Even less impressed by us locking mittens on his hands. although he did like knocking snow off things.

Leo however L.O.V.E.S. snow. playing in it. Eating it. Sleeping in it. He should have been adopted by Eskimos.

Great Days in a Parent's Life

Things quickly progressed after Marek started signing potty when he went potty (not always but a few times a day). I decided to give going diaper less a try for a few weeks at the recommendation of a book. Sure enough that was the key. Marek now ask to go, is put on, and goes potty on the bumbo toilet seat at least once a day. He also goes all on his own on his little baby bjorn potty at least once a day.

M has hit the stuffed animal stage. He found a Little Pim doll I had intended for Xmas, and plays with it so much I can't take it away. He'll snuggle with Little Pim and make his dance. It's quite sweet.
As you can see M is climbing everything now. He climbs on to the bed, couch, and chairs with ease. He's not to impressed we tell him no to climbing on the coffee table.

Ikea

So we went and got Marek his first table and chair set. M has been participating in snack time at the little person table at Family Place, so I thought he might enjoy his own at home (This even though he barely ever sees us sit at our grown up table and chairs; not my thing).

Originally planning for classic hand me down worthy furniture, we ended up with cheap and fun at Ikea. The pictures tell the story; first he helped Daddy build, then he sat on the chair to work on his computer, then he stood on his chair, then he stood on the table. Boys!

Oh, Marek also made the potty sign twice now while going potty. Very exciting. Now we just need to work on getting the potty in the potty instead of on the floor.

Twirling

Marek's new thing is spinning round and round. It's the first baby thing I really remember. I so remember spinning round and round on my Grandma's front lawn with my cousin until we fell down dizzy.

Happy Halloween

So Halloween was a big but tyring hit for all. Last minute I felt guilty and bought Marek a Giraffe costume. Then we took him to see all the neighbours.

I was glad I'd bought the costume and all as there were so many little ones M's age out trick or treating. Who'd a thunk it?!

Marek liked seeing all the Halloween decorations. He even started saying Ghost (or something like it) for the occasion.
He also learned to chew through candy rapers to get to the candy. Yup, he's my child.
I think his favourite was Fireworks. He refused to go outside to watch them, the noise was just to much for him, but insisted on staying up late to watch them from the window.
Thanks to Aunty Kelsey Hair for helping out. I promise next year we'll get dressed up.
