Music Box

I've moved all the music toys we have into the music room. Hoping to spread out the play space some more.

I consider the one skeleton legwarmer / bear hat /ukulele look to be a Lang Lang Rocker Classical Musician look, not a Keith Richards look. Even though he likes to make the Mick Jagger lip look.

Stacking Rings

Marek has figured out how to stack the rings on his stacking ring toy. Initially he'll let it sit on the ground and slide them on, but inevitably he'll pick up the stick part and slide them on. This means that he gets one on, goes to reach for another, doing so slides the original off, repeat. He doesn't seem to mind though.

The evil kanevil phase is also still going on. Based on my husband and fathers' behaviour I assume with boys the daredevil phase never really goes away.

Words

Pre birthday there was Dada and dog. Birthday week we added Mum, car, and boat, Not sure if boat can be counted as Marek pronounces boat as goat. He just started practicing b sounds. Duck, bug, and tug are also in the work but the parent team are not ready to unanimously declare them though (Duck is close though).

He also seems to be labeling everything. Most items seem to be grog;, like he's a little Viking baby demanding meed. I feel very guilty for not always knowing what he's talking about. At this rate though it won't be long.

1st Birthday: 2 of 3

We then met Yaya at Chapters. Yaya gave Marek a flap board book, a big boy utensil set (which M loved), and a whole tonne of clothes.

Next on to the cabin to see Papa and Grandma, who gave M to super fun books. One with a lot of buttons, and the other with a puppet. Mama promptly used the puppet and scared the birthday boy. Luckily all was corrected later with a simple peekaboo. Nothing that says peekaboo or tickle can be scary.

Happy Birthday Marek! 1 of 3

Mountain Man took the day off and we all went to the Aquarium. What a difference a couple months make. Marek walked everywhere (with assistance) and even walked a meter or so without assistance. Favourites where the giant sea turtle, Arctic cod, pink amazon birds, Pygmy monkey, jelly fish, and the fish in the pacific north west exhibit.

Day -1

Marek has wanted a balloon for weeks and has been seeing them (and thus wanting them) everywhere. Therefore Mountain Man brought Marek home some today, the day before his birthday,

Marek is now a ballonaholic Aeronautic Vigilante.
